Jonathan Baxter
A versatile actor, performer, and designer. He has captivated audiences across New Zealand, Australia, Britain, and the United States. With a remarkable 30-year journey in Origami, he has masterfully transformed his craft into stunning theatre productions, exquisite woodworking, and innovative modeling, leaving a lasting impact on the artistic community worldwide.
Today, recognised as the Origami Master, he honed his skills under the mentorship of Akira Yoshizawa, the legendary Grandmaster of Origami. In 1999, Jonathan was one of a mere five individuals chosen globally by Yoshizawa to collaborate in Tokyo, a testament to his exceptional talent. Yet, among all the accolades he has garnered, the title that resonates most deeply with him is....Teacher!
Now based in Rotorua, New Zealand, he created Origami New Zealand after spending time in Australia and Charlotte, North Carolina, where he organised two successful Origami Festivals featuring artists from around the world. His remarkable skills and extensive portfolio showcase an impressive array of past projects that truly set him apart.
